Cupping is the use of glass "cups" or other material cups to help increase the circulation in the body. It is done by creating a suction on the cup and placing the cup on the body to promote circulation by the following ways:
- relaxes tight muscles
- brings up toxins from lower surfaces of the body to the upper layers so that the body can get rid of the toxins more easily
- releases congestion (i.e. Asthma, colds/flus)
After a cupping / acupuncture session, it is important to drink more water: not too cold, room temperature water is best, to help the fluids move along, and out of the body.
